A 24-year-old French-Moroccan man, Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou, has been arrested in Morocco for his alleged involvement in a series of kidnappings targeting cryptocurrency holders in France. The arrest, made on June 4 by Moroccan national police, followed a coordinated effort between French and Moroccan authorities. Bajjou was found carrying bladed weapons and multiple mobile phones, suggesting ties to a larger criminal network.

French Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin praised Morocco's swift action, calling it a significant blow to organized crime. The case gained attention after a failed kidnapping attempt on May 13 involving the daughter and grandson of Pierre Noizat, CEO of French crypto platform Paymium. The victims fought off masked assailants in broad daylight, preventing any theft.
